Your college counselor is your best resource for understanding how Common Course Numbering works and how it can help you. They can show you which courses at your campus are now phased in, explain how those courses transfer, and help you plan the most efficient path toward your degree or transfer goals.

Whether you’re just starting out or already working toward your degree, your counselor can answer your questions, review your academic plan, and make sure you’re getting the most out of Common Course Numbering.

Common Course Numbering is being introduced in phases across California Community Colleges. This means you’ll start to see more and more courses using the same number for the same class, whether you’re in Northern California, Southern California, or anywhere in between. Over time, most comparable courses across all campuses will have a consistent number, making it easier to plan your path, transfer credits, and stay on track.

Because the rollout is phased, you may notice some courses update sooner than others. Your counselors and advisors can help you understand which classes are already part of CCN and how it can help you right now.
