Program Pathways Mapper

Plan with confidence, see your pathway term-by-term, and understand how your courses support graduation or transfer.

Why It Matters

Starting college can raise big questions: Which classes count? How does this program transfer? What’s my timeline to completion? Program Pathways Mapper (PPM) provides a clear, visual view of program requirements so students can plan term-by-term with more confidence.

Student Stories

Students often begin college journeys with questions about what to take and how it connects to their goals. PPM provides a clearer way to see the path forward.

On Usefulness

Bakersfield College Student

“It’s really useful to figure out which classes can transfer… you don’t want to take a class that’s not going to mean anything.”

On Clarity

Bakersfield College Student

"When I was still debating on what to major in, [PPM] gave me an understanding of what courses I would be taking.”

On Progress

Bakersfield College Student

"When you can see your path, you’re more likely to stay on it. At Bakersfield College, students who used Program Pathways Mapper were nearly twice as likely to finish their degree within three years compared to those who didn’t."

About Program Pathways Mapper

Developed in partnership with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, participating colleges, and regional education systems, Program Pathways Mapper is powered by the Foundation for California Community Colleges

All maps are faculty-designed, reviewed for accuracy, and updated regularly to reflect current curriculum and career data. PPM is intended to support, not replace, counseling and academic advising. Students are encouraged to use their map alongside guidance from counselors and program advisors.
